Gasteracantha kuhli: White Spiny Spider
Gasteracantha is a genus of spiders with crab-like shells. These spiders have several common names such as spiny spiders, spiny-backed orb-weavers, hasselt's spiny spiders, or spiny orb-weavers. Some species have different colors, yellow, orange, and white.
Yesterday I found a white Gasteracantha spider, which is the species of Gasteracantha kuhli. The scientific name of this species was first published by Carl Ludwig Koch in 1837.
Gasteracantha kuhli is smaller than other Gasteracantha genus spiders. Although this spider is small and moves more slowly, it has deadly jaws that can kill opponents in a relatively fast time.
