Dart Skipper in Sumatra

in Beauty of Creativity3 years ago

These images were captured by me while exploring the local forest this afternoon. It is known as the Dart, a species of skipper butterfly belonging to the genus Potanthus (family Hesperiidae). Maybe you're wondering why it's called the Darts? I will tell you.

I started from the time of the photo-taking process. At that time, I was setting the exposure on my camera. And after I finished, I immediately sneaked up to approach Mr. Dart. That's a crazy butterfly! He flew away. Do you know? He flew off like an arrow shot from a bow, really fast! By now you must have understood why he was called the Dart.

But luckily, I saw him again about 3 meters from where he was before. I approached him once again slowly. I managed to capture the image for a few clicks before he flew off again like an arrow.
