Velvet Mallow | 10% Beneficiary to shy-fox
It's good to be back in the wood, a place where I used to spend time searching for beautiful pieces of nature. It's been almost a month, I don't deal with smartphone macro, and today, I insisted to use it to shoot this wild plant. So, for today's post, I am gladly coming up with some pictures of a little wildflower that massively grows in the wood, in the bush. It's called Velvet Mallow, I don't have any idea who calls this flower with a beautiful name, anyway, sounds good to me. It has four-petal in yellow leaves and yellow blooms that glow like candles in the shaded settings where this native thrives.
Often seen in woodlands, velvetleaf thrives in somewhat drier conditions than its close relative. This wildflower needs no special care, as long as soils are well-drained that serve as a larval host to various skipper butterflies but I saw no butterfly hanging there at that time or they have already gone soon they noticed me coming.
Velvetleaf grows 3–8 feet tall on branched stout stems. Their stems are covered in downy hairs. It annually grows in the warmer seasons. It germinates in the spring, and flowers in the summer.source
