We call "Toet Budee Trieng" refers to the old history of our people that was still preserved till the present time. The "toet budee" or "firing the bamboos canon" has turned into annual celebration which took place in the second night of Ied. They placed the bamboos alongside the river bank, for they believe, it would produce bigger sound followed the river body. Interestingly, this thrilling activity was involved the kids who were tasked to handle the bamboos canon while the adults were assigned to handle the carbide canon which create the biggest sound. That was my thrilling experience watching this event and I felt lucky that I could have time to observe the way they produce the sound from the bamboos.

Before the event begun, people has come to crowd this place. The road was blocked by people who came to see this events, it usually started at 22.00 till dawn. Considering, that was the annual cultural event, people pushed themselves to take a part to cheer up this moment. On that occasion, this Ied night celebration has acknowledged as annual celebration in which people who have long gone, coming home to celebrate this event by showing their support with fund. Almost every individual hand by hand funding the need of this annual event.

In upcoming day of event, people worked together to look for necessary materials, such as bamboos, kerosene, and the firing tool. These bamboos was made up as good as possible to produce the quality sound. What amazed me was, the spirit of togetherness was bond intensively throughout celebration. That was seen from this activity where the kids were joyfully lighted the fire in small hole which was intentionally made. In this case, they must be carefully with fire or otherwise, it would burn their skin. However, I did not see the terrified faces, they joyfully made this event successfully.
