Syrphid Fly (Eupeodes latifasciatus) | 10% Beneficiary to shy-fox
It's been a while I dont shoot any insects and in fact I still love to see them. So, this weekend, I decided to go hunt them in the wood as well as the way to enjoy the weekend. Soon I stopped by the stream, I noticed this little insect was slowly perching on the leaf and flying short. This would allow me to take the pictures from the closest range in which I could use my smartphone with an external macro device to get the pictures of this fly. As many of us already know that this typical fly can also be found in the garden, on the flowers of umbellifers (especially Angelica) and thistles in woodlands and wetlands in late summer.
It often seen hovering beside such flowers, and may even feed whilst hovering, which is unusual behaviour for syrphids. Having bright color, made this species easy to be spotted and particularly has straight and broad yellow bands. This species of insect is very well known as Hoverfly or Syrphid Fly (Eupeodes latifasciatus), stays under the family Syrphidae in the genus Epistrophe..
These are medium-sized flies that live in forest habitat, where they occur on forest edges and in openings. The larvae are usually flat and green, blending in with foliage.source

You have taken the Syrphid Fly very well and every picture looks neat, I also like that the background is dark, this fly is also very difficult to take pictures he mostly flies, you have discovered in great detail.
Thanks for sharing 🥰

Very beautiful photography. Best of luck.
I'm still curious how do you darken the background of the image..do you edit using an application or edit with a cellphone or is it still natural?
Wow, great. Very beautiful insect photo, with a good photo angle.
