Sickle-bearing Bush Cricket
This fascinating insect was found when I was in search of another subject around the bush. It is belonging to the subfamily Phaneropterinae that can be found in meadows, grasslands, prairies and occasionally in gardens. This great bush cricket can be differed by its very long and thin antennae, which can sometimes reach up to three times the length of the body, thus distinguishing them from grasshoppers, which always carry short antennae. Look at its shape of body and long antennas, that show something uniqueness of this wood dweller. That is the reason why I loved dealing with this insect. Bush cricket is typically ground-dwelling insects with powerful hind legs that allow them to escape from threats by leaping vigorously. Indeed, once you get in touch with nature, you are urged to dig more and more for fascinating ones always excite us to observe their uniqueness and so you eagerly want to come back to find something new.
