Meet my little new friend! Yep, it was there to accompany me in the wood. It happened when I was taking break, it just showed up and hovered around me. I like to see the way it came up on me, as if it was trying to make a friend with me. I gave out my hand, and he soon landed on my finger. It was there searching something around my finger, scanning if it had a little food to consume, but no, it was just a skin and nothing can feed it on.

While it was landing on my finger, I managed to take some photos with my smartphone and additional macro device. I assume, my finger has just given a soft spot to stay for this fly. This little cute friend is called a tiny yellow hoverfly or syrphid fly that used to be seen hanging or hovering on vegetation plant, also called flower flies belong to the family Syrphidae.

The hoverfly is included in insectivores and prey on aphids, thrips, other plant-sucking insects. However, on the day I found this fascinating species, it was being calm on the grass which gave me no hard time to take shots, even I directed my phone closer, it did not make a lot move move which allowed me to take its photos.
