Human Portraits: Wood Chopper | 10% Beneficiary to shy-fox
The other day, I visited the coastal village to get some human portraits. That is what I did when I needed to see the real-life of the people. During my visit, I met some people who were doing their routine as a salt maker, preparing firewood for the salt. Right after taking the pictures inside, I managed to take this man's picture while chopping firewood outside.
Seemed he did not pay attention to the camera and acted as nothing happened, which is very good, so I could see the absence of pose of the subject. In taking human portraits, the absence of pose was all we want. As I did not want to come home with an empty hand, I tried to have unofficial interviews with the farmers, and sometimes it's great to get in touch with underprivileged people who made living thru the hardship and struggle to provide for the family.
As I used a 50 mm lens, I had to come a little bit closer to the subject and I was very welcome to photograph him while doing his work. From a certain range, I managed to take pictures from various angles, making an effort to get the sky background as the way to make the subject look more stunning.
