Flying Syrphid Fly
A common syrphid flies or drone flies that often seen hovering around the garden. Hoverfly is known as one of the pollinators that feed on both pollen and nectar for energy to produce eggs, which usually seen on flowers but also occasionally grasses and trees. Hoverflies may vary in color and size but I mostly found yellow and black hoverfly which sometimes made me confuse to identify them with wasp or bees. Hoverfly belongs to the family Syrphidae, in the order fly. Hoverflies are best known as pollinators, beside bees. They also feed on both pollen and nectar for energy to produce eggs, which usually seen on flowers but also occasionally grasses and trees. Hoverflies may vary in color and size but I mostly found yellow and black hoverfly which sometimes made me confuse to identify them with wasp or bees. As it is little insect, I managed to take its photos with DSLR while it was on air, which challenged me so badly with the focus. After involving in several attempts, I was finally able to get only four photos.
