Crimson Dropwing Dragonfly | 10% Beneficiary to shy-fox
Dragonfly has various colors and shapes This beautiful form and color has indeed attracted me to take a couple of shots while it was there. After knowing my presence was not detected, I freely took the shots from various angles. As I always do, the head was my main focus on the insect. Dragonfly is also considered the insect that has main body segments and six legs to help them fly and to support their movement. Despite having six legs, the dragonflies do not use those to walk, but it is used to hold onto foliage during rest, and grasp prey.
The reason why dragonfly is different from other insects are their eyes, wings, speed during flight and this insect has good eyes to detect the threatening objects that may harm them. I found this typical dragonfly on Gayo hill and I happened to notice it perching on the wild plant when I was busy taking the landscapes. It is known as Crimson Dropwing or Crimson Marsh Glider (Trithemis aurora).
Trithemis aurora, the crimson marsh glider, is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It is a common and widely distributed species found throughout the year across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.source
