Blue Ground Dragonfly | 10% Beneficiary to shy-fox
It's been a while I don't shoot dragonflies since I rarely found the unique ones. So, when I was trying to shift to another spot after taking the butterfly's photo, I noticed this blue species was perching in the shady leaves and bouncing to the twig. Its color attempted me to hunt it down and trying to take a few shots. This species of dragonfly is one of the common dragonflies in gardens, fields, playgrounds, etc., and sometimes can be found near the paddy field or even in the forest. This typical dragonfly usually flies horizontally very close to the ground which eased me to shoot from a distance range.
Blue is colored all over its body and has blue eyes with middorsal and subdorsal black stripes; the remaining last three segments are black. In old individuals, all markings are obscured by fine blue pruinescence. Blue dragonfly (Diplacodes trivialis) spreads throughout tropical and subtropical Asia and belong to the family of Libellulidae, in the genus Diplacodes
.
Diplacodes trivialis is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae known as the chalky perched or ground skimmer. It is found in China, Japan, India, and southwards to New Guinea and Australia.source
