A Skimmer (Agrionoptera insignis): 10% Beneficiary to shy-fox

I took these photos of a dragonfly long ago somewhere around the palm plantation. This typical dragonfly likes to spend time near the pond or swamp, a spot where I found it on that afternoon. I indeed attempted to get the clear focus on its head but unfortunately, I could not be able to get it right as it moved quite a lot beside the surrounding was a bit darker than I expected and I also got to deal with the camera setting in order to get rid of the noise. As it was not really still, I was forced to take these photos with a DSLR because I was pretty sure that I would not be able to catch them with a smartphone. I was always equipped with these gears when I headed to the hunting spot as I believe, one gear was not enough to get what I wanted. So this dragonfly is probably one of the common species that live near water areas and is known as skimmer Grenadier (Agrionoptera insignis) a species of dragonfly that is mostly found throughout Asia. It belongs to the family of Libellulidae, in the genus Agrionoptera.

It is common in most of its range. The circumscription of the species is not entirely clear, so if the species is redescribed, its status may change. Common names include grenadier.source
