Steemit Nursery Contest: What makes me happy/ Teaching or Lecturing Makes me Happy/ by @simonnwigwe

Fellow steemians,
It is a pleasure on my part to be in attendance at this amazing contest organised by the Steemit Nursery community. The community is well known by steemians most especially the newbies as they always collaborate with the New Comers community in ensuring the welfare of every new and old steemian. The community has gone a long way in helping members to build their steem power and also to always use their VP.

This contest was organised with this noble community's aim of seeing steemians writing a detailed article about what makes them happy. We all have something that makes us happy in this life and most times no matter how sad we are once that thing is present we become happy. In this blog, I am going to be discussing with you all exactly what makes me happy as a person.

As I have clearly stated above, on the heading of this post, what makes me happy is teaching or lecturing. As a kid, I admire teachers so much and even when my friends will be saying I want to be an engineer, I want to be a pilot, I want to be a doctor etc, I will always tell them I want to be a teacher.

Most times, I get discouraged by my teachers and the government of my country because of delays or not payment of salaries, the way parents treat the teacher etc. Some of my teachers will tell me that they are doing this job because there is no work anywhere. Sometimes, most people don't like rewarding teachers because they will always say that teachers' reward is in heaven. So they will always advise me to go and look for a better-paid job and do.

I was not too comfortable with the entire things people are saying about teaching because to me I don't consider the pay as more important instead I derive joy anytime I share knowledge with my friends. When I discovered that my source of joy and happiness was in teaching, I decided to go ahead and attain the teacher's training college here in my country.

When I was done with the program and my higher education, as it is in the custom of my country, I am to serve the nation for one year and that is what I am currently doing. I was posted to a college where I am to work as an assistant lecturer. To me, this is a dream come true because all my life I have always wanted to teach and this has allowed me to do that.

The images above are images of students in my school as they write their exams. I always love going to the class and doing anything that concerns the teaching of students. As you can see in the image the students are currently writing their exams and on this faithful day they wrote my course. The scripts of the students as seen below as I prepare to mark them.

I love teaching and I can abandon anything I'm doing to ensure I deliver my lecture to my students. As it is like students, they will always give teachers names based on their attitude or character. In my case, they always call me a lecturer that loves teaching. Well, I am so happy I was known for something good and I will continue sharing my knowledge with as many as possible.

This contest has helped me in a very special way to discuss with us all what makes me happy. A lot of people have different opinions on what makes them happy and for that reason, what makes another happy may not necessarily make you happy, so it is always advisable to know yourself and know what makes you happy. Finally, I want to specially invite my friends @josantos, @predomina and @josepha also come and join in participating in this wonderful contest. Your entry is highly welcome and I can't wait to read it as well.
