DAIRY GAME 21/05/21; VISITING THE ANIMAL MARKET
Hello everyone,
It is such an honor to bring to you another exciting place i just visited today with my family and today we would be talking about the journey we embarked on a few kilomiters away from the Tamale township in the northern part of Ghana in search for an animal that we intend to sacrifice in the coming Eid-Adha that would be probably about two months from now.
Due to the rising nature of animals in an average Ghanaian market, various individuals rush to the "Guunaa-Yili" animal market to buy animals of all kinds be it cattle,goat,sheep.
This animal market is well known for buying and selling of animals and animal produce as we a business center where other forms of business translations are made.Animals cross the length and breath of Ghana and other neighboring countries including Burkina Faso and Niger are sited at this animal market and it is open for business at every Thursday of the week which stands at market days for people to come and carry out thier business activities.
Over here animals are tendered(restrained) to polls to prevent them from going astray and this is done for the main purpose to keep them safe from harming people visiting the market.
The picture above shows the Ghana Revenue Authority(GRA) office where each an every animal must be taxed before they enter the market.the office is sited at the immediate entrance of the market.
The picture above shows new arrivals and them being discharged from their vehicle from a raised platform. The raised platform helps to dicharge animals with ease onto the market after a long journey of travel from various farms.
Over here,pregnant and lactating mothers are not left out....this is where I finds it worrying where calves are separated from their mothers or bought together by a client if they are fortunate.
This is small section of the market where sheep and goat are kept.
Over here people pass by to have a bit of the grilled meat.
