I'm @goodybest from Nigeria, I'm so delighted to share with you all my view on "**investing in steemit**" I hope someone will find this write up useful and as a steemians sees the need to build our future finance with STEEM.

But first of all let's gets to know the meaning of steemit.

WHAT IS STEEMIT?

Stemit: is a social media platform that financially rewards users in form of crypto currency specifically STEEM, STEEM POWER(SP) SBD, and TRON for creating and curating content.

STEEM: is the cryptocurrency that powers the steemit network. It can be used on steemit platform to gain STEEM POWER(SP) through the process known as powering up. STEEM dictates the value of rewards that are paid out to users for contributing to the platform.
STEEM POWER (SP): is the steemit platform's internal currency of which cannot be traded on the digital currency exchanges, but it gives users influence in the platform to give higher rewards to users and receive higher rewards for curating contents. Also SP gives it's holder a share in the steem reward pool.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO INVEST IN THE STEEMIT PLATFORM?

First of all steemit is not a "get rich quick scheme" platform, it is legit and safe for people of all ages and different background. Steemit is not a Ponzi scheme it's a social media platform that rewarded her users with crypto currency. Steemit was launched 24 March, 2016 it has managed over 1.2million registered users, it is free.
The activities in the block shows that steem block chain has the highest activity score, with more transactions than Bitcoin & Ethereum combined.
It's absolutely true that investing in steem is risky, just like every other investment you could made. But it is calculated risk because
The platform is decentralized, meaning most decisions are made through voting systems on the platform where people with more steem will have greater effect on the voting outcome.

MORE REASONS TO INVEST?

ANONYMITY: you will have your desired privacy in steemit because steem encrypts all the data that user details to ensure that no one can find the identity of an account owner. Even the nodes used in Steem network that are involved in confirming all transactions are only able to check the balance of a user not their personal details. This privacy encourages users to engage with steem crypto currency and the platform behind it steemit.

WIDELY ACCEPTED: the block chain network is legal, so you can freely exchange your steem for the local fiat currency

DECENTRALIZED: Your cash in the bank can be targeted and be frozen because the traditional payment methods are centralized, controlled by central organization. This centralization means that third party sizures can occur. But steemit is decentralized block chain technology, your are the only person who can access your funds.

STEEM CRYPTO CURRENCY: can be gain through the platform, you can use the crypto to your advantage.

HOW TO INVEST IN STEEMIT:

• Buy Steem with any of the exchanges like Binance, Poloniex etc. AND transfer the steem to your steemit wallet, then convert the purchase steem to STEEM POWER (SP) through the process known as powering up
• You can change your SBD to steem and the you use it to power up
• you can set your post at 100% SP reward
• participate in contest and when you win use the liquid Steem reward to power up

• on your upper right hand side click on 3 parallel line

• click on sign in

• login to your wallet by putting your username and posting key

• your wallet is activated now as you can it has changed to green, click on the drop down arrow beside steem

• click on power up

• ** next key in the number of steem you want to power up and click power up**

• ** input your master key and click ok**

• Wow your done powering up!

I am emphasizing on powering up because steemit is the business of Steem Power.

• You will earn curation rewards
• you can change lives for the better
• you get more power and influence
• you can promote your business for free

CONCLUSION

STEEM remain the market leader in highly populated new market segment. "Steem will soon witness increasing demand in the future". So one is indirectly investing in his or her future success on the steemit platform. I believe steemit will succeed, that is why I'm adding some steem to my digital portfolio.
