Star Tortoise in Village

in Steemit Nursery3 years ago

Yesterday was a very cold day. It rained heavily for hours, so the yard was full of water. It's too cold to go outside. But I just wanted to go out. A miracle. I saw a beautiful star walking on a rock like never before. I'm very surprised. I wanted to go a little closer and see. Look at it beautiful here.

A golden star tortoise. Really very beautiful please. An animal I have never seen. It was the first time I saw it with my own eyes. I thought so. It was only after follow-up that I came to know that it was a star tortoise. I watched it closely. You can see too.

As soon as we hear the name tortoise, we know that the tortoise is a species with a thick shell around its body and hard skin around it. They can be seen regularly in villages and in zoos around the world. As soon as it feels the shadow of an accident, the tortoise crawls into its shell and comes out of the shell again when it feels safe.

We often hear about common tortoises, but we do not often hear or see star tortoises. So I thought I’d write about this particular star tortoise today.

Based on their appearance, these star tortoises have been named as the most attractive tortoises in the world. These star tortoises are abundant in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The color changes according to the area where they live. The shell has different patterns.

The only way to tell if they are male or female is that the female is about an inch larger than the male. Size, color, and shell shape vary by country and region.

With proper protection, these tortoises are easier to raise indoors and can live longer. That is approximately 30-80 years. They live in the wild and are often preyed upon by predators. Natural disasters, such as floods and fires, also take their toll.

The star tortoise is very calm in its reproductive process. Between two and three months after mating, the female digs a shallow hole in the sand and lays 4-8 eggs. These take on a white round shape. When a suitable place to lay eggs is found, the female urinates to that place. This makes it easier to turn due to loosening of the soil at that location. After laying the eggs, the holes are closed again with soil.

Since these turtles are herbivores, they feed on the leaves, flowers, and fruits of various arid forests. Fruits are also often eaten.

Some believe that having these star tortoises in their homes is good for their homes and brings good luck. Star tortoises are also bred as pets, so they make a lot of money selling these tortoises. It is eaten as meat in many countries. As a result, their population is declining. In other countries their body parts are also used for medicine.

However, laws and regulations must be enacted to protect these valuable animals. And we must protect them. This is because the beauty of nature will be lost after the destruction of such creatures that beautify the environment.
