... the 48 m high dam wall of the Edertalsperre. The dam is used to supply water for the Upper Weser and Mittelland Canal so that inland navigation does not have to be stopped during dry periods. Since it is very dry here at the moment, the Weser had to be supported with about 2 million cubic metres of water per day. However, this aid for the Weser will be stopped as the water level of the lake is already very low........Cold and heat, wetness and dryness are opposites, and yet they benefit people in the same way.
