The earlier you are with upvoting content that afterwards becomes popular and gets upvoted by „whales“, the higher the percentage you get from the 25% curation. We actually coined the name „taste-makers“ to describe users who detect quality content before it reaches the trending page, so there is an advantage to being an early-voter :) via Uma in the Appics telegram.
