... celebrated all across India usually in September–October of Gregorian calendar. It is a celebration of win of good over evil. Dussehra will be on the last day of Navratri (9 days long celebration). Symbolically people burn ten-headed demon king Ravana who abducted Sita Devi who is wife of Rama, the great king of Ayodhya.

In country with huge population and diversified cultures and traditions, this festival is celebrated in a different ways from North to South and East to West.

"Bathukamma" Bathukamma means 'Mother Goddess come alive' and this festival will be celebrated in predominantly in South India (Telangana and some parts of Andhra Pradesh as well) a day before Dussehra. Women celebrates by singing and floral decorations to goddess Gauri who killed demon "Mahishasura" during Navratri (9 days). This festival symbolizes the power of womenhood and cultural spirit of people.
