The Diary Game - Christmas in a few days + Spiderman premiere | club75
Christmas is coming
So Christmas is in less than a week. That would be one of the multiple reasons why some users are less active on the platform recently. I know I am - being busy was never a more accurate answer for "how are you?" than right now :)
I am not a religious person. In fact, I describe myself as an atheist and at least two out of four of my boyfriends are not religious at all as well. Still, Christmas, or maybe more accurately "Xmas" is my favorite holiday. It's a tradition and all that it represents is what I love the most. I know for some of you it may represent the resurrection of the god, but for me the meaning is universal. It's about celebrating life, appreciating what's good in it, spending it with the people we love, sharing the meal, and having quality time. Understood in that way, Xmas is basically the same thing as Hanukah, Kwanza, Ramadan, and any other special occasion, no matter what religion it is related to.
Poles have tens of rites and traditions connected with Xmas, mostly Christmas Eve. I will be writing about them another time, there are a few days left. For now let me just say that we are feasting that day until the dinner which can be eaten when the first star (or, scientifically saying, Venus, as it's the first noticeable light spot) appears in the sky. In winter, in Poland, it would be around 17.00. If I would like to wait for the stars here, in Rosario, I would rather starve to death as it's sunny until 21.00 or even later.
The meal is made of 12 dishes, so it's a feast that takes long hours and costs, with a bigger family, hundreds of dollars :) I'm not sure if it supposes to represent 12 apóstoles or maybe 12 months in a year, but assuming that early Christianity was strictly related to astrology, it's probably both.
Of course, the house has to be perfectly clean that day, so we clean every single place, remove everything from the shelves, wash carpets, etc.
For now, those two pieces of information are all that you need to understand my Diary Game. I am talking about it because basically my whole days now are focusing on cleaning, food shopping, and cooking. We divided our responsibilities between the family members:
- I went shopping, cleaned two rooms, and made the order in the closet
- Krzyś made pierogi and started fermenting cabbage for Bigos and beetroots for Barszcz - Polish beetroot soup. I will be writing more about the traditional meals for Christmas Eve another day so you can learn more about them
- Willeusz took care of cleaning the bathroom and... Contacting the plumber because the pipes in the kitchen started to leak. Perfect timing, isn't it? Luckily on Monday (tomorrow), someone should take care of them.

Time for relax
In the evening Krzyś, my husband, stayed at home to work because he has some conference tomorrow and rests four of us went to the cinema for the premiere movie of the newest Spiderman. Now, I don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say that the number three, which I called the number of the day yesterday because I became triple dolphin, was present in the movie as well. In some way, Spiderman will be three times more powerful than before. If you want to know how, you must see the movie, because I'm not saying even a single word about it anymore :)
I'm leaving you with the official trailer:
After that, I chilled a bit on the bed watching the Witcher on Netflix. I don't know if you heard about it before but the book Witcher was written by Sapkowski, Pole. The movie, as well as the book and computer game, are based on many legends and pre-Christian Slavic mythology. All that monsters, magic creatures, and early medieval castles are a big part of Polish cultural heritage. Even though Poland became a Christian country in the year 966, original beliefs were present until the XVth century.
While I was enjoying the movie, Panda (our dog) decided to use me as the couch and chill on my belly. It's his way to hug, very common while he wants to show affection. It may be uncomfortable but it's cute as hell!
Humm ...
Felices fiestas💗
Gracias amiga, avísame después si te gusta Witcher ;)
