Final Year Project (fyp) ||Orientation Day || Share your ideas .
Hi everyone,
Hope you all are doing well and in good health. As I mentioned in my previous post, my semester has wrapped up. However, the semester break for an FYP eligible student is not really a break. It’s the time given to us to develop and refine our final year project ideas, and work on bringing something new to the IT world.
Yesterday was our orientation day. It was held at the main campus to guide us on the roadmap, prerequisites, rules, and regulations of final year projects.
The rules and regulations were delivered by our FYP head. We were asked to create groups of 4 members, as the FYP will continue for a year. We need to select an idea that justifies all four of us working on it by the end.
Proposal Defense
We have been given a month to prepare. Exactly on August 24th, we will have our proposal defense. A jury, consisting of university professors, will be assigned to us. They will cross-check our three ideas, which must be unique, and we need to explain them thoroughly to the jury. Out of the three, only one idea will be selected. In the proposal, we must provide all the details, including the description, workings, tools, language, and domain. An advisor, not from our university, will also be assigned to us.
Meetings ,working and Weekly Reports
We will be under the observation of our advisor and the jury. Tasks will be assigned to us, and we must complete them by the next meeting. Our progress will be monitored, and each member's marks and progress will be based on their hard work The FYP is divided into two semesters and a summer break, making it a year-long project. We must clear FYP-1 to proceed to FYP-2.
External Evaluation and Defense Day
If we clear FYP-1 and FYP-2 within the university, we will be selected for external evaluation involving the tech industry. Software engineers, data engineers, developers, and other industry professionals will monitor and assess our project. We must defend our final year project to complete it successfully.
