SEC S17W2: "Protecting children".

After much interestingly contest topics of week one steemit engagement challenge I'm still overwhelmed to continue in the second week. I'm so excited in my entry of this contest because the topic sound lovely to share ones opinions and also learn from other users. Indeed you people tried in bringing up this great contest topic which had inspired me to expantiate in my own opinion, so without any further ado let's get started.

Explain in your own words, what does Child Slavery mean and what are its most common manifestations?

Child slavery is not a concept to be adopted in our society because it's a deeply distressing reality where children are subjected to exploitation, abuse and forced labor. l learnt that childhood should be a time for learning, growth, play and safety not the other way round in the name of enslaving childrens. It is obvious that an estimate 12 million children worldwide don't have that change due to how they have been treated with people around them.

As a matter of fact one of the common manifestation of enslaving children may be forced labor which enhance pain and depression that may affect their physical and mental growth. In this case children are exploited in various works including agriculture, factories, saling on the street, restaurant, and many more harsh work. They work long hours under harsh condition, often without proper pay or safety measures. Some children are coerced into bagging on the streets which has lead to engage in robbery and stealing from people in the streets. They often lack agency and are vulnerable due to their age.

Expressively, Children are abused in prostitution, pornography, or other forms of sexual exploitation. They are forced into situations where their bodies are exploited for the profit of others. At most times girls who had live 5 years with their master hands would be force to marry when it is not time for marriage thereby causing agony and ruining the future of young girls.

How does forced labor impact the lives of children?

I think when children are forced to work it affects them greatly and deprived them from basic right and their own personal right of taking responsibility which may lead them to inflict and distress. Forced labor affects children physical and mental health especially in the aspect of mental state because they work under harsh condition for hours which would turned off their brains to function abnormal thereby causing symptoms of illness that may result as deep inflict in their body system that may even lead to death.

What strategies do you consider effective to eradicate forced child labor?

Eradicating forced child labor is a critical goal that requires concerted efforts from governments, organizations, and individuals. Here are some effective strategies to combat this issues

• By implementing comprehensive Social Protection: Implement more comprehensive social protection programs to support vulnerable families. Regular cash transfers can help meet basic needs without resorting to child labor. Strengthen safety nets to prevent families from pushing children into work due to financial distress.

• Another strategies is by increasing investments in education, healthcare, and other essential services can improve overall living conditions. When children have access to quality education, they are less likely to engage in labor at a young age.

• By creating employment opportunities and ensuring fair wages for adults, we reduce the reliance on child labor. When parents can provide for their families, children are less likely to be pushed into the workforce.

• Lastly, Rigorous monitoring and enforcement of child labor laws are essential. Governments and organizations must collaborate to ensure that existing regulations are followed and enforced.

Do you think it is essential that children have the freedom to fully develop and fulfill their dreams? Explain your answer.

Yes I think it's essential that children should have the freedom to fully develop and fulfill their dreams. Allowing children to explore their interest, passion and talents enable them to find what truly bring them joy and fulfillment. When they have the freedom to pursue their dreams they can lead more meaningful living. They are naturally curious and imaginative. And I believe that by giving them freedom to create and explore they will do well and be resourceful to the society.

Achieving their dreams builds confidence and self-esteem in children. When they overcome challenges and see their hard work pay off, they develop a positive self-image and belief in their abilities and when children are allowed to follow their passions, they can make unique contributions to society. Whether it's through art, science, sports, or other fields, their dreams can lead to positive change.
