En el béisbol la posición más importante según los expertos es la receptoría, (el catcher) por ende las persona que lo ocupa este lugar en el terreno de juego debe ser una persona habilidosa he inteligente, para primero llevar bien a sus lanzadores, llevarlos durante todo un juego de manera correcta, que te lleve, valga la redundancia a conseguir el éxito en el juego y segundo, transmitir las diferentes señas del manager a sus compañeros en la defensa, es prácticamente la voz del manager dentro del juego de pelota.

Desde que él asumió el cargo, lo primero que dijo fue que no tenía ningún tipo de experiencia como manager, lo que lo libró de toda culpa y de todo peso o presión a la hora de evaluarlo, pero la fanaticada de aquí de Venezuela es tan exigente, que le ha puesto niveles de exigencias, hasta tal punto de llegar a despedirlo, siendo esto algo injusto debido a que es una persona que merece respeto y de seguro anda buscando la forma de hacerlo mejor de lo que lo está haciendo hasta ahora.
