SEC S17W2: "Protecting Children"

Right here I'm pleased to let you know of my excitement joining this contest today, which has to do with children and their need to protect and guide them. Having concluded the first week contest successfully, i do love to be making my entry below.

In your own words, what does Child Slavery mean and what are its most common manifestations?

Child slavery can be described as a situation whereby a child is given out and exploited or used for someone else's gain, this literally mean, that child will has no say towards the situation on ground nor try to leave the person exploiting them. Child slavery is that tormenting work that deprives children of their required childhood, dignity and their potential which can be harmful to both their mental and physical development.

The Common Manifestations Of Child Slavery Include;

• Children are been forced to take part in armed conflicts, their by forcefully indulging them in military operations.

• Children who are forced to marry and abused by leading them to pornography, prostitution and some other forms of sexual exploitations.

• Children get forced into drug trade, begging and petty crime.

• Debt bondage

• Disastrous work that could cause moral corruption.

How does forced labor impact the lives of children?

Children who are forcefully dragged into labor are always at greater risk for poor health, malnutrition, and even death. Because of thisack of nutrition, they are very much likely at a higher risk for contacting various kind of diseases. Because the body needs balanced diet and good nutrition to be sure that the immune system functions properly.

Those of the kids that are put on farms to work, could get in contact with potentially and heavy dangerous animals and could also incurre injuries from large, unwieldy, and sharp equipment, which can be very dangerous.
It's so unfortunate that majority of these children labor as prostitutes, and the industry is just at putting them to a danger, disease and violence.

What strategies do you consider effective to eradicate forced child labor?

Here are few strategies i can place to explain the subtopic;

✔ Compliance:
Too many laws and regulations need organisations to take in account, the necessities to ensure they are involved in modern slavery.

✔ Awareness:
Acquiring Knowledge is one of the basic tool to fighting against any kind of exploitation. If only people can define what people are facing through, then try to find something to be done.

✔ Reporting:
Raising alarm on what's happening, it could helps the employees to get to know how to identify and as well report any cases of such act or any form of exploitation.

Do you think it is fundamental for children to have the freedom to fully develop and fulfill their dreams? Explain your answer.

Of course yes children need free time to do whatever they want to do, I mean they have to feel that childhood attention, love, and care from both parents, guidance, friends and everyone around them. Children deserve the best to be given to them and not deprived of them.
