SEC - S9W6: " My Biggest Challenge"
Steem greetings to everyone in the Recreative Steem community. It has been an amazing season 9 of the engagement challenge. Now comes the last week of discussion with the topic “My Biggest Challenge”.
As human beings, we face life challenges which make us stronger to face life realities in the future. Today, I will be sharing one biggest challenge I ever faced in my life.
What has been your biggest challenge?
One biggest challenges of my life is the fear of failure. This was one of the greatest challenges I faced when I got married and wanted to further my studies.
I grow up being a fighter, fighting to get anything I want in life due to traditional stereotypes that hindered women's progress in life. That was when I thought I conquered the fear of failure.
Unfortunately, when I got married and was heavily pregnant and decided to continue my studies with a master's degree. My husband’s family was against me going to school with a baby at hand. They looked for all possible means to instil fear of failure and asked me to think about it. From what they said, I reasoned that they were thinking of the huge fees to be paid for the program and not about my well-being.
I put to birth via CS and the baby was 2 weeks old. Classes started and I was forced to go for the program while only my husband was supporting me even though still had doubts if I will cope with the baby and my studies.
The type of questions my husband throwback at me, made me to be fearful of failure.
Tell us how did you get over it?
One thing about me is that I do not easily give up in life. I told myself, if others are making it while married and with babies, then I can do it as well. I thought of my aunt who was pregnant and did her master's degree program and graduated one of the best of her batch. I checked other women's success stories and it motivated me to not give up on my dreams.
Despite all the difficulties I faced while studying, I stayed focused and more determined to achieve my goals.
I had to sacrifice hanging out with friends and avoided unnecessary outings with friends. All I could think of was to cater for my baby and myself while studying. Until when the first-semester exam results were out, I shocked everyone instilling fear in me that I will fail because I'm a mother. My results were outstanding because I was determined to succeed.
What advice can you give us from your experience?
Judging from my experience, I will advise that in life we should always embrace our challenges and don't run away from them. They only make you stronger to face future challenges.
Also, challenges faced human beings and not stones. I will advise you never to give up in life no matter how hard things turn out.
Always set goals in life and work smart to achieve the goals. Determination is the key to success. When you are determined, no challenge will stop you from getting what you planned to have.
Lastly, always give yourself a second chance to do better. Failure does not mean the end of your life but rather builds you stronger to face future challenges.
Conclusion.
In summary, life they say is full of ups and downs. We should bear this in mind and not give up when life challenges pop up. They will come and all you need is just stay focused and determined to achieve your goals. Trust me, you will turn out to be “a mover and a shaker”. I will invite my friends @mesola, @hotspotitaly, @abialfatih and @mile16 to share their ideas about this contest.

Thank you dearly for the encouraging words. It is a difficult task but with determination and hard/smart work, the end will always be full with joy as there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Wow, I like your determination to finish your studies even though you have a baby. Your baby is not the hindrance to reaching your goal in life but it is your strength to your goal. Good luck.
I appreciate you for using the right words to encourage me. Determination is the key to success. Giving up is never an option for anyone who has the mind of winning.
By the way, while reading your post, I also remembered my life because I also wanted to continue my studies after my marriage, but after marriage I will be so busy. I knew that I should continue my studies but all the responsibilities have increased so much and I have children that now I regret my studies that I wish I had completed my studies before marriage but life may have given me that much luck. Best of luck fo contest 🤗😍
You can still take back your studies if you have a winning mindset. When you start regretting, giving up will be an option which will only help to create fear and doubts about yourself. Having kids should not stop you from completing your studies.
