SEC - S9W5: "The Internet, my best ally"

Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your happy & healthy life. I am here to share my participation in the steemit engagement challenge season 9 week 5. As the internet is playing an important role in our life so, I choose to share first.

What activities do you do online?

As a student, I have to do a lot of my work by using the Internet. First of all my daily use of the internet is to communicate with my friends, and family and get notifications on what's an app from the university either for an assignment, quiz, or any vacation. Then I used the internet each day to do some scrolling on Instagram and YouTube as I like to spend some time on both applications.

As a student, we get a lot of assignments for which we have to search for data from Google by using the internet. Then I need the internet to upload those assignments and attempt quizzes on Slate (the official university website for each student). As a doctor, we need to read new research and exercise patterns to better treat the patient with any disease.

I am also a blogger on steemit, so I need the internet to share my posts, to do comments on different posts, and check new updates on the steemit blog either for the steemit engagement challenge or for community curators. Since I joined steemit I always try to have some weren't where I can check updates and publish my content on steemit.

Since what age did you start using the Internet?

I was book worm at school and college time so I didn't use the internet at that time. I start using the internet when I got admission to university because before that there was no need as I lived with my family but now I am far away from them. So, I need an internet connection to keep interacting them and get linked to them. We are using PTCL (Wifi) from the start in Lahore.

When I joined steemit, my sister give her mobile phone (Xiaomi) to me, at that time I didn't use any social media apps except YouTube to watch drama serials. 2 or 3 years ago I created my Instagram account.

How much do you use it every day?

I am using the internet wholethe day 24/7 as I have to keep in touch with my friends and family by using what's app. Then I have to check the steemit whether I am in university or at home to see the latest updates, upvotes on my posts, comments from different users, and any other notifications.

I am not like those who can't spend their day without using the internet. I can spend my day without using it as I experienced it a few days ago when there was no internet connection in Pakistan and I was in the village where was no access to the ptcl network.

Do you have internet at home, how much does the service cost (please indicate the price in local currency and Steem?.

Yes, I have internet service at home. We are using the PTCL network first but we are using Fibre which is much faster than simple wifi or ptcl service. It costs cheap as we are using less speed network but it's too good for us. The fibre device charges once on the time of connection and only have to pay the monthly package price each month.

Why do you think the internet can be harmful?

Yes, although the internet make our life easy but there are some harmful effects of using internet. The most common thing are scamming on different websites even though I have seen many scammers on steemit who send us a link and ask us to click to get some rewards. Take away all our resources or stole our keys to get access to our account. So, it's necessary to be aware of such scammers and hackers.

Secondly I have seen that most of the parents gives access of internet to their kids, they don't supervise them and kids involved in wrong activities. They get access to any kind of data or information on internet on different websites. Which can cause damage to their personality and brain as no one teach them the difference that what they can see while using internet.

There are many websites on which we add our personal information like our Gmail, phone numbers, or social media accounts. They can get access to our accounts and our accounts get hacked and our personal information can be leaked to illegal companies or anywhere else.

The most harmful efeffectf using internet is nowadays everyone is more interested in using internet rather than doing physical activities which can cause different body disorders and damage to your brain and eyes health. As using the internet consecutively can cause damage to your eyesight even insomnia.

What benefits has the internet brought to your life?

Although internet has some side effects but it's upto us that we use it in a good or bad way. Internet has make our life so easy. Especially I am using internet for different purposes. The main purpose are the get some knowledge related to my profession and earn by using steemit. I didn't get to know about steemit if I didn't meet my friends and get access to internet. Then I start working on steemit and now I am blessed to work here, get interaction with different users.

Without internet I can't get the notification about university as CR GR inform us about next day schedule on what's app which I can use by getting access to internet. Without internet I can't interact with my friends as we always contact to each other before leaving for university.

I always use internet to collect data for assignment works, presentations because I work when I am in a good mood so, I collect all the data and either keep it in Word or on what's app by sharing important website links.
