My favorite fairy tale is "Malin Kundang," Here I will give an overview of this fairy tale and how fairy tales can influence someone's life.

"Malin Kundang" is a story originating from West Sumatra, Indonesia. This story tells of a young man who left his mother to seek wealth abroad. After managing to become rich, he rejected his mother when she returned because he was ashamed of his poor background. As punishment, Malin Kundang was turned into stone by his mother who was crying in sadness.

The reason many people like this story is because it teaches about the importance of respecting origins and parents. This story is a warning that greed and betrayal can bring unexpected consequences.

Fairy tales have the power to influence a person's life, especially children. They are not just entertainment; they also convey moral messages and life lessons. Through fairy tales, we can understand ethical values, empathy and justice.

One of the life lessons I saw from "Malin Kundang" was the importance of appreciating our relationships and roots. Often in modern life, young people are tempted to abandon traditions and family values ​​for the sake of personal ambition. However, this story reminds us that true wealth is not just material things but also the relationships we build and maintain.

Apart from that, "Malin Kundang" also highlights the consequences of our actions. Malin Kundang's actions of leaving his mother and rejecting her in front of other people reflect greed and moral helplessness. When we ignore moral and ethical values, we may have to face severe consequences.

In this context, fairy tales often become a mirror for us to introspect ourselves. Through the characters and plots in fairy tales, we can see ourselves, our mistakes, and how we can become better people.

Overall, "Malin Kundang" and other fairy tales have deep values ​​and are relevant for our lives. They teach us about the importance of integrity, sacrifice, and valuing relationships. Like other stories, "Malin Kundang" is a reminder that behind wealth and success, we must maintain the values ​​taught by our parents and ancestors.

Fairy tales do have a strong influence in shaping our understanding of the world and ourselves. They are a moral mirror that helps us recognize and understand the deep values ​​in life.
