"Steemit Engagement Challenge S11W5 - Steem, Say no to animal abuse"
Hi community users, I am delighted to join us here to write on a such biodiversity topic that allows us to protect one of a kind. Animal abuse has been known to be in occurrence even as we speak. Some are tortured for fun, others murdered for consumption, and some are left unattended.
All these listed concerns have their varying degree of constituting abuse to this creature. Human beings the highest in this category should be able to do better so as not to ignite the extinction of some of these creatures.
What does the expression "Don't disturb our habitat" mean? |
---|
Not disturbing our habitat may typically mean, not constituting nuisance or discomfort to other living creatures around us. In every human environment, there are conglomeration of other living at make up that diversity. It is imperative not to think of self in an environment where the activities of other unnoticed creatures create balance.
How we constitute this disturbance is primarily from our human activities one major of them is bush burning. Bush burning is one major displacing activity that destroys the habitation of these animals and most times also destroys them permanently.
On the other hand, we do not need to be aggressive to them. Even the worst creatures aside some wild animals only view humans who are nonviolent to them as less treat to cohabitate with. How we treat them greatly determines their reaction to us when we see them.
Have you found animal abuse around you? Share with us and Explain why it happened. |

This is simply on the basis of the various loose abattoirs within the region. They are not only manhandled before they are killed but also in public view where children observe the gory sight. It is also becoming the new normal which I feel is an abuse to these animals. Sometime early this year, there was an abuse that happened around my neighbor. A wealthy young man around the neighborhood left his exit gates open and all of his three security dogs left and started roaming the avenue.
Unfortunately, people already view dogs as treats and aggressive in nature and started mal-treating them. The dogs were not only confused with their actions as they were roaming aimlessly without direction since they'd already lost their sense of accommodation and safety. Stones and sticks were thrown at them to scare them away but they continued in an aimless direction.
It took the attention of other meaningful neighbors to draw the attention of the owners by going into their compound. As soon as they knew what had happened they started going after them immediately. I took them time to reassemble these animals who had already lost sense of direction. Out of the three that left the cage, two returned unharmed while the third one came back with a broken leg and other minor injuries.
This not only shows carelessness in managing these animals due to less attention but also the unnecessary exposure that it brought that endangered their lives.
Is there a real form of the legal approach taken by your country's government that regulates human actions towards animals? How is it formed? Explain |
---|
I do not think that there are any known laws to me that regulate that aspect of animals in my country and if there are any, I wouldn't know if they are implementable or enforced. When most of these animals and pets are consumed by either this tribe or the other, it makes it difficult to apply extraordinary caution while handling them since they are viewed as consumable meat.
For example, dogs especially the sacred security dogs that are revered are special meat for another tribe in my region. They cherish dog meat whereas these animals are not eaten here. There are also places where snakes and rats are consumed. The consumption of other domestic animals is left to the discretion of the owner.
If you had to come up with a slogan to stop animal abuse, what would it be? |
---|
My simple slogan for this would be "Live and Let them Live". This is a slogan that will allow us to see them as ones who also deserve the right to live our lives. They should be well-handled rather than manhandled.
