Unlike you I do not see it as animal abuse if they are used to work with. Many dogs like to work and get frustrated if they have to be locked into the house.
It's the same for more animals who came to carry or pull what we not can. If man and animal are friends, work together there's nothing wrong with it.
Donkeys, horses, carriages might be the solution to fight the pollution factories making vehicles and all those cars produce. It might also be a great way to destress if we are more involved with nature again and can slow down.

That's from your own perspective here in my country Nigeria 🇳🇬 they don't value animal at all, many animals are used for labor which is very bad and you will hardly see an agency that is responsible for the welfare of animals.
