Be friends with sharks

A diver from Indonesia claims that he has been friends with a shark named Emma for almost 23 years. He even described it like a cute pet dog, not like an ocean predator. Diver Jimmy and the shark, Emma, ​​first met in 2001 when Jimmy helped remove a hook from its mouth. Since then, the two have seemed inseparable.

Every time Jimmy started to enter the water at White Beach, upstream, Emma would come and put her head closer as a sign of affection. This is certainly not normal behavior for a large tiger shark measuring 8 feet or around 2.5 meters which is actually very easy to tear humans apart.

This is also what makes Jimmy have a mission to change people's perception of sharks.

"What makes Emma so special is that she's so big, and makes you think it's the last thing you'll ever do," Jim said.

"But if you are in the water for a while, you realize that he is very affectionate and caring," he continued.

Since the two are friends, Emma can recognize Jimmy even if he is wearing different diving equipment. Over time, Emma also learned Jimmy's hand signals, which were seen as an invitation to rub his head.

"One of the best things that happened to me was discovering the love of sharks," said Jimmy.

Apart from the story between Jimmy and Emma, ​​the story of the friendship between a diver from China and a fish named Yoriko was also in the spotlight.

Meanwhile in the country, a friendly shark can also be found, precisely in Gelanggang Village, Teddy District, Giri Regency. There we can find friendly whale sharks that live in the Gorontalo sea.

This giant fish with the Latin name Rhincodon typus greets visiting tourists every day. Travelers can even see it up close while feeding the fish.

There is nothing to be afraid of with this fish, apart from being friendly, this fish has been friendly with local residents for quite a long time. This whale shark has lived in Bayu Bay for a long time.
