Hello fellow animal lovers hope you are all well. Today I am going to discuss about the most harmless animal of my country Sundarbans Deer. In Bangladesh, almost all species of deer were available. In addition to Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Malaysia, China Praviti deer are found.

These are Sambar Deer, Maya Deer, Chitra Deer, and Para Deer. The last two species are extinct from Bangladesh. Through this today's content, I will know all the unknown information about deer.I will introduce you to different species of deer.

Sambar Deer: Another member of the deer family is the Sambar deer. Preeti is the largest deer of the subcontinent. Height near the neck of the jetty is 150 cm.

The body is full and covered with rough skin. Hair grows near the neck and throat of the male chamber. Most of the hairs fall from their body during summer. This deer lives in Chittagong Hill Tracts and Sylator evergreen forests of Bangladesh.


Maya Deer: Maya deer is the smallest deer species found in Bangladesh. The height of which is 40 to 62 cm.

In addition, male deer have long upper party spots and those of deer are very short. Maya deer are usually timid in nature. This deer has magical vision. This deer is found in Sundarbans, Sylhet and Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. There are two species of Maya deer. One is Lalmatzak and the other is Fays Montzak.


Chitra Deer: Chitra deer is found roaming in deep forest and grassland areas.

This deer is native to Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka. It is a medium sized deer. Chitra deer is 75 to 95 cm in height near the neck. And this deer is covered with reddish and white colored fur. They are called striped deer because of their white striped spots.


Para Deer: Para Deer is an extinct deer from Bangladesh. This deer runs through the bush like a pig with its head down. Hence they are also called hog deer.

This species of deer does not like to live in groups. They are more active during the day than at night. Due to the destruction of wheat crops, drought killed them. Apart from Bangladesh, the northern region of Pakistan, India was the home of this deer.


The largest mangrove forest in the world is the Sundarbans of Bangladesh. And in this forest is a permanent abode of a large part of the deer. But the existence of deer is now threatened in this forest. The activities of poachers and smugglers do not stop.

A lot of deer are dying in the hands of the hunters. Not only the deer but the biodiversity of the Sundarbans is under threat for them today. We all should take appropriate steps to protect the diversity of Sundarbans.
