I am proud that India's national animal is the tiger. And even the little kids in my family like Tiger.

The country's wide variety of habitats – from dense forests to grasslands – provide a suitable environment for these apex predators. Ecologically, India has been home to various species of tigers for centuries. The Bengal tiger/Panthera Tigris, in particular, is native to the Indian subcontinent and is found in various parts of India.

Tigers are depicted as powerful and majestic creatures in ancient Indian art, literature, and folklore, and historically, tigers have been revered in Indian culture and mythology. Tigers are also considered a symbol of strength, valor, and courage in various Indian traditions.

However, it should be noted that the tiger population has declined significantly over the years due to habitat loss, poaching, and other factors. Conservation efforts are also underway to protect these magnificent animals and their habitats. Designating the tiger as India's national animal reminds us of the need for conservation and the importance of conserving the country's rich biodiversity.

Total of 53 tiger reserves in India. and Most tigers are in the state of Assam.

My native Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu state. Total of 5 tiger reserves in Tamilnadu.

Kalakad- Mundanthurai Tiger Reserves:

The Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve is located in the South Western Ghats. It is spread over Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts of Tamil Nadu.

The primary objective of the Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve is to protect the rich biodiversity of the region, including the conservation of the tiger population. The reserve is also involved in various conservation and habitat restoration efforts.

The reserve offers opportunities for ecotourism and wildlife watching, allowing visitors to appreciate the area's natural beauty and biodiversity while promoting conservation awareness.

Tigers Life:

Tigers communicate with each other through voice, body language, and scent marking. They can roar, growl, grunt, and subs. Roaring, in particular, is a way for tigers to communicate their presence over long distances and assert dominance.

Female tigresses, or tigresses, are attentive mothers. They usually give birth to a litter of young and provide care, protection, and nourishment to their young. The cubs are raised by the mother until they reach the age of hatching.

The best and most efficient hunters are those who live alone and hunt primarily alone. They use their excellent camouflage and stealth to stalk and ambush prey. Tigers mainly prey on iguanas such as deer and wild boar, but they can also bring down larger animals such as gaur (Indian bison) and water buffalo.

If you are watching tigers in the wild, it is important to do so responsibly and from a safe distance so as not to disturb their natural behavior.
