Animal Contest: Tell us about animal transport

I would like to thank the team of Steem of Animals for organising the contest on relevant concern for Animal protection and conservation.

As per the rules of the contest I'm inviting three of my friends to perticipate in the contest:

My reply to the questions of the contest are as follows:

Is animal transport available in your area?

I live in a Metro City called Kolkata in the Indian State of West Bengal. In my childhood I have seen some Bullock carts were used for transporting goods.

Now except few fancy horse carts used for joy ride near Victoria Memorial Hall, bridegrooms ride for short distance to arrive at brides place and Carnivals, no others modes are allowed in the City.

India is a vast country with many diversity. Sam Sand Dunes in the desert like Thar in the Indian

State of Rajasthan where joy rides on camel and camel pulled carts are seen.

In the Jangal or Forest elephants are used for safari and pulling wooden logs.

Do you think animal transportation is legal or illegal?

It is illigal. But many illigal practices happen. In some special occasions like National military parade, Government carnivals & celebration riding on animals are seen and that is legal as a symbol of tradition and historical practice.

Do you think the use of animals as transport should be stopped? Why?

Undoubtedly it should be stopped. Every creatures and animals of the universe are born free and have the equal rights of the nature's resources to live independently.

Just as the child is a beauty in the mother's lap, the beast is spectacular in wilderness.

In primitive days human domisticated animals to dominate animals as per his wish and whim, that cannot be continued indefinitely.

At a point of time when the animal fail to deliver, they are slaughtered for consumption. These include large volumes of greenhouse gas emissions, water pollution and loss of biodiversity.

Tell about transportation that can be used instead of animals.

There are many alternatives. Animal transport is used as it's less expensive.

Wherever the motorable road, waterways, ropeways, railways, airways, tramways, including all modern mode of mechanised transport are available, animal should be strictly avoided in transportation of goods and human.

During my high altitude treking I have seen goats and sheeps accompany solo villagers as route gide, because it never forgets the route. It is made to walk for 10-15 km a day, sometimes it carries small laguages.

There are habitation upto to an altitude of 10000 ft or 3048 M where people can stay nine months comfortably. In India if that place is not in the country border line or famous tourist hill station there are no possibility of modern transport facilities. They fully depend on animal transport for goods which could be done manually by all members of the family and avoid animal transport.

Animals can't be considered as easy available means for transportation of goods or human.
