Steemit Engagement Challenge S11-W2 - “The Animals (Mascot)"
Steem greetings from the motherland-Cameroon to all animal lovers in the Steemit ecosystem. It is another moment with @chant sharing content in the steem of Animals community concerning the week 2 engagement challenge topic is titled “The Animals (Mascot)".
Animals are wonderful creatures but in some societies, some of the animals are completely wiped out of the earth by humans who constantly hunt them and consume them as food.
For the discussion, I will focus my analysis based on the guiding questions below. I hope everyone did pleasure in reading through this concept.
What is the type of your animal (pets/wild animals, etc.)
There are several different animals in my country and the type I think I like is the parrot 🦜. I once visited the wildlife centre and the stories, the conservator told us about the African parrots made me feel like keeping a parrot at home.
In my home, each of us loves different animals. For instance, if you ask my husband about his type of animal, he will go for a dog. I do not like dogs and my kids as well do not like a dog.
For my kids, my girl likes cats as pets and for my son, he loves cheetahs. When I asked him why cheetahs, he said that they are smart and fast.
One thing is we all love parrots from the stories we. were told at the wildlife centre. Therefore, I can say parrots are the type of pets I will like to keep because all of us at home love this creature.
Tell us information about the animal.
The type of parrots I'm talking about are known as “African grey parrots”.
The parrots are smart and their intelligence is great. They are sociable and at the same time very sensitive to human speech. They can listen to humans, and express their emotions when need be.
The African grey parrots can be used as a guard at home. They are very protective and this is the reason why they are good to keep at home as pets.
Are these animals also found in other countries?
I do not know much about these African grey parrots if they are found in other countries.
I came to know about this animal when I visited the wildlife centre in my country. They are qualified as endangered species and are conserved, and taken good care of and with time, they are sent back into the forest. However, most of them are in the forest and have trackers inserted from the wildlife centre and forest guards are deployed to stop illegal poaching.
Nonetheless, I am convinced that these animals are found in other African countries.
What is the animal mascot used for (sports club, country, etc)
The animal mascot used in my country for all soccer games is the lion. I think this is one of the varieties of wildlife we have in Cameroon.
The national soccer teams both male and female are named the “indomitable lions or indomitable lionesses”.
The jerseys that are used by the national soccer teams have a lion logo on the jerseys.
The mascots are also used to animate on the field during soccer games. The mascot parades on the streets during big soccer events like the African Cup of Nations Cameroon hosted.
Mention its characteristics and philosophy so that it becomes a mascot.
We all know lions are smart and brave. They are warriors and kings of the forest. They are hardly defeated by another animal.
Also, lions are fearless and will brave all the odds to fight back and conquer. Their bravery cannot be compared to any other animal.
They also possess strength as one of their characteristics. Their strength allows them to fight back.
I believed these are the reasons why the animal is used as a mascot for the soccer national teams. The soccer national squads use these characteristics of a lion to fight back and win.
This is the end of my presentation and catch you all in the upcoming week 3 challenge. I will invite my friends @paholags, @bongk, @ikwal, @norat23 and @wilmer1988 to share their entries to this challenge.
¡Holaaa amiga!😊
Wow, you guys are lucky to see the parrots fly freely. The African grey parrots are endangered species as poachers will not waste a second when they found them. Thank you for your constant support 🤗🤗.
