Hello Steemians! How are you today? I hope you are as fine as I am. Today I want to show you the step-by-step I took to draw a dark skinned gorilla in the steem of the animal community.

Gorillas are herbivorous animals also known as apes. They are the largest in the ape family. They look more like humans especially when they stand. They are found in the forest.

Fact about gorilla

• They can eat all day long
• Gorilla lacks hair on their face
• They are herbivorous.
• Gorilla lives for about 35 to 40 years
• Gorillas are social animals and they live in group
• Gorillas are clever
• They are symbols of strength and courage

Benefit of Gorilla

• They are source of food (meat) to human
• They help plants to receive sun for their growth as they move on trees.
• They help in planting as they spread seeds of the fruits they eat in the forest.

Now My Drawing

Instruments used in drawing

• A4 paper
• Pencils
• Colours
• Eraser
• Sharpener

Step 1
I began my drawing from the head of the gorilla down to its face, back and shoulder.

Step 2
Here I draw its eyes nose and mouth

Step 3
I shade its nostril using a 12B pencil and I also shade the region around its eye and four head

Step 4
I shade its face the more. I took care of the wrinkles on its face, the mouth and cheek. I also darkened somewhere around its hand.

Step 5
I shade the mouth of the gorilla. I used my 12B pencil and red colour.

Step 6
I coloured the eye of the gorilla. Here I used an orange colour and a 12B pencil

Step 7
I draw its ear and also shade its right shoulder and part of its hand.

Step 8
I draw its hand with its fingers and also shade the remaining parts of its body.
