Introduction
Animal labour is the infliction of suffering or harm on animals by humans. This suffering could be a denial of food,beating, engaging the animal in hard labour such as farming, transporting goods etc.

Have you noticed animal labour in your country? How do they engage in labour?

Yes, I have noticed animal labour in my country. There are different ways that animals are engaged in labour in my country. Some of these ways are:

Farming: Selected strong and healthy cows are used in farming, especially in the northern part of my country. A yoke is attached to the neck of two cows and attached to the yoke is the farming blade. So, as the cows pull or move, the blade till the ground.

Hunting: Dogs are trained and used for hunting in my country. Hunters use their dogs as machinery to hunt for them and these dogs do not have the right to eat any meat or animal they catch.

Carrying of goods/transportation: Donkeys and Camels are used in carrying, and conveying goods and people from one place to another. These donkeys or camels can not talk. So, they can not express or say when they are tired or when the luggage is too heavy for them to carry.

Animal labour can be prevented or stopped through the following ways:

Enacting strong legal action: Like India, other nations or countries should formulate or enact laws that will prevent or stop cruelty to Animals. Any form of labour or cruelty to animals should be linked to a higher likelihood of criminal violence and domestic abuse.

Reporting to Police: Reporting any form of labour or cruelty someone witnesses on the animal to the police or other appropriate authority authorities.

Teach your children to have respect for animals. Animals are also living things. Therefore, they should be respected and protected.

Raising Awareness on animal cruelty.
Awareness can be raised on how to protect or stop Animal Abuse through social media, radio and television. This can also be done through partnering
with NGOs and companies advocating for Change.

Technology: Technology can be used in place of animals which is more efficient. It is faster, and it saves time.

There are alternatives to animal labour. These alternatives are:

• The use of tractors for farming: Tractors can be used to till the ground just as the cows do. The tractor has a higher advantage because it can cover a very big space within the shortest time. But, one has to spend on fuel or diesel as the case may be.

• Hunting traps: Traps can be set by hunters at strategic places where they know that animals pass regularly to help them catch instead of using dogs.

• People can resort to carrying their luggage on wheelbarrows, motorcycles, tricycles or cars rather than stressing these animals who can not talk or complain.
