What is a family?

Family is a group of people living together, and mostly related by blood. A group of people bound by family ties. It is the smallest unit of the society, and the basic unit as well. Every individual must belong to a family, because that's the elementary of every other organisation we see today. A family is made up of married couples.

Name the types of marriage practice in your country.

The types of marriage vary from country to country, and the religion being practised.
We have the civil and religious marriages.

Describe the major differences between the types of marriages mentioned above.

There are basically two types of marriage in my country:

• Civil marriage: This type of marriage is mostly in court, or referred to as court marriage. It involves the couple going to the court to be wedded. Here, there's room for divorce. Equal rights are recognised here which means both parties share what they have equally especially when something is odd.

• Religious marriage:
  The religious marriage can differ based on the religion or traditons of that person. There's a traditional marriage where so many are invited to celebrate with the couple and it's usually a celebration of everhthing being paid, and the marriage legitimate.

There's another that is called an imdoor mareiage where a few friends and family members are invited. It's not usually an elaborate one.

Explain five benefits of living together in the family.

Happiness: A family with a very healthy relationship is always happy. They're contented with the little they're blessed with. This doesn't mean they might not disagree, but it'll always thrive with happiness at the end if it.

Unity: A united family is a strong family. The bond is so strong among them that they relate so well. This is a very strong quality of a disciplined family.

Helps children: Building a good home(family) influences a child both directly and indirectly. It trains the child to grow up responsibly, hear how contributions are made and how decisions are reached. The child shares his/her emotions with family members, and watches how to make a good home as well.

Communication: Communication is the key to any strong relationship. Family members always have people to talk with.

Better society: Depending on how a person is well trained from their homes, the society can change for good. All these things are achieved through the coming together of a small unit in the society called family.

Is a house help a member of a family? Explain.

He/she is. However, it can depend on how that family treats him. Being a house help doesn't make one less in the society. There are instances where a family makes the house help family because of the love and care shown to him. There's no discrimination whatsoever because the family sees him more than being a help.

Do you know who you are in your family? Prioritise your family today. Bottom line is family does not necessarily mean to be related by Blood.
