Hello my Steemit friends. Hope we’re doing okay today. I had an amazing day on December 23rd, 2023. This was just three days ago.

_{The joy of meeting with other steemians}

My Saturday was quite a blissful one till in the evening. I want to thank @ngoenyi for this opportunity to share my day with y’all.

My morning was not very productive on Saturday because I stayed up all night to complete one of my courses. I realised I was running out of time, and I needed to buckle up for the cert. So, I woke very late in the day, and started preparing for the hangout that was happening later in the day at Udoudoma field, Christmas village.

This is when I began to do the chores at home, while getting ready for the hangout. By the time I was done, time was no longer by my side. I had to call one of my friends, @ukpono, to ask if she was ready so we could leave at the same time.

_Masquerades

I turned out that I got there before her. On arrival, it was a bit difficult to locate where we were supposed to meet at. This is the festive period, and many ceremonial festivities were ongoing. I saw a group of men who accompanied masquerades of different kinds, displaying their culture right there in the open.

I had to capture them with my phone immediately. After that, I continued with my journey in search of the venue, until one of the moderators here, @okere-blessing spotted me. I finally got to the place, and sat for some time before @ukpono arrived the venue.
I was able to meet with other steemians I never got to meet, and the ones I met before.

The hangout proper started in the evening at past 5pm. At this time, most people had arrived, and the agenda was out. The moderator for the day was @okere-blesing, who took her time to go through each item on the agenda carefully. Then we had @ngoenyi on stage who spoke to us about Steemit, and the need to write more. It’s the best platform to be on, and very safe, she said.

The next person we had was @goodybest, the country’s representative. It was a pleasure to meet with her in person.

I have had a few conversations with her for some time on the phone, and when I realised, she was also going to be there, I couldn’t say no to not wanting to go be there. It turned out she is even more beautiful in real life than her pictures. She talked about writing meaningful contents, and knowing where and how to source our images form the internet.

One of the persons I didn’t expect to see was @mesola. I was more than surprised when I got to know we’re even from the same state. Her charisma and simple life spoke volumes in the few minutes I spent there.

Boom! @bossj23 showed up. This man made me consistent on the platform for one month straight. When I saw all these people, I felt this joy in me that I was, and I am going somewhere. Plus, the other friends that I met, they were all amazing. I even won a giveaway airtime by airtime, with the help of my friend, @ukpono.

It was indeed fun. I enjoyed every moment of it, and it was worth my time. Of course, there was refreshments, and if you ask me, I wished we could be hanging out every month. But we all have different things to attend to daily.
