Drawing ChallengeWeek 16 : Draw A peacock 🦚 by @yakspeace.
Hello beautiful souls, it's another week for the drawing challenge and in this week drawing we were asked to draw a peacock. But before I share my drawing with you all, I want to appreciate @eliany for organizing this contest.
A peacock
Peacock is a name commonly used for a colourful male peafowl. The peafowls are one of the largest flying bird on earth, and the female peafowl are called peahens,they are smaller and gray in colour.The peacock has two legs, eyes, long neck, one pointed mouths (upper and lower mandible), beautiful Crest, crown and feathers.
The peacock usually use their beautiful tail feathers to attract the females for matings purposes and also they use the tail when they are threatened or intimidated by other animals.The peacock can also use it's tail in other to make itself dominate and more bigger. But their colourful tail begin to grows only when they are about three years old.
Peacock are omnivore birds that feed on insects, plants and small creatures. They are always known for being picky eaters with their mouth. They can eat anything that can fit in their break. Normally there are three types of peafowl they are;
- The Indian : They native to areas of Pakistan, srilanka and Indian
- The Green : They are native to southeast Asia
- Congo: They are native to Central Africa
But the most common type we see daily is the Indian peafowl.and the peacock is divided into two which are the green and the blue peacock. According to history the blue peacock are allowed to be eaten by humans but the green peacock is being considered as a special kind of species and it is protected under the law.

- The male are called peacock
- The mummy peacock is called peahens
- The baby peacock is called peachick
What quality does a peacock have
- The are very beautiful with blue and green color
- Peacock loves to be noticed
- they are emotional
- they are very optimistic
- peacock are considered as the king of birds
- They can live up to 20 years in both the wild and capacity
- They are very sensitive in nature
- they are very vocal and they have a very loud call that can be heard throughout the waystation

Yes I have seen one, at the zoo and also in our neighborhood.
Are they important to man, what significant role do they play in humans life?
Definitely they are very important to man in numerous ways which are; * peacock are used as source of meal in different countries * their feathers are used to make crown in some part of the world mostly in India, the feather is symbolized as the power of gods thunder. * Their eggs are also edible and it is bigger than the chicken eggs * The peacock generate more income to it's owner and they are also keeped in the zoo for people to come and see.
Why do you like it
I love the peacock because of its beautiful and colorful tails, most expecially when it's open the feather it's look so amazing.
Drawing a peacock
The material I used in drawing the peacock are;
- pencil
- eraser
- A4paper
- Crayons color
step1: I drew the peacock body first
step2: I drew the neck and the head of the peacock
Step3: I now drew the eyes, mouth, and the
Crest of the peacock.
step4: I drew the two legs
step5: I now add the tails
step6: Then I drew the details which are inside the tail
step7: finally I colored it using blue and green color.
