Hello beautiful souls, it's yet another beautiful week for me to participate in this weekly drawing challenge contest organized by @eliany in this very community. In today's week we where asked to draw giraffe, so i want you all to relax and learn from my drawing because i will give it my best😁

Describe A Giraffe 🦒

A giraffe is the world tallest hoofed mammal which belong to the family of genus giraffe.it has long legs, brown mane, small ears, long tail, long neck, short body, spotted pattern, small eyes, nostril, powerful hooves and long tongue which help them in eating. The giraffe primarily live in Savana areas in the sub- sharan region in Africa, they always like the wet season because there are abundant of food, so during the wet season more giraffe are spread out. But during the dry season, they always gather them self around where there are remaining evergreen bushes and trees.

The giraffe feeds on trees and leaves, their hight always allows them to eat leaves and shoots which are located much higher and they use their tongue to pull out leaves from the long tree. The giraffe are ruminants animals because they chew their food before swallowing it for proper processing, after that they visibly passes the other half-digestied which is cud up in their neck, after some time they bring it back into their mouth to chew it again. They also eat less food unlike other animals because, the foliage which they eat has more concentrated nutrients with effective digestive system.

There are male and female giraffe, the male giraffe are taller then the female giraffe but they all have ossicones on top of their head Even though the ossicones on the male are still longer than that of the female giraffe. They female giraffe give birth after five years and they carry their child for 15 good months before giving birth while they are standing up. The giraffe can can live for about 25 years in the world.

What qualities does a giraffe have, that human can imitate?

Qualities of giraffe are;

They have long neck and long tongue which enables them to pull out leaves
they are the tallest animals in the world and they can run for about 55kilomiter per hour.
They are wild animals with long legs
They have a long life span for about 26 to 30 years
They also have a spotted body
The giraffe hardly sleep for half and hour every day,they sleep only for 5 to 10 minutes.

Have you seen one before? If yes, where?

Yes I have seen giraffe in the zoo, at gashaka gumti Park when we visited the Park with my friends.

Are they important to man, what significant role do they play in humans life?

Of course, they are important to human in several ways. The giraffe are used as bush meat which generate income for the sellers and also they are being kept at the zoo for people to come and see. They are also important because they balance the ecosystem.They also helps in maintaining the fauna and Flora of the region because,they eat upper regions of the tress, shrub's and Bushes. The giraffe skins are also used to make expensive pillows, Bible covers, trinkets, boots and knife handles which is very beneficial to the people.
