My school excursion day to art galleries
Hello friends it is a pleasure to post in this community once again this afternoon. I am here to tell you how my excursion went, it was very enjoyable. So sit back and enjoy reading it.
EXCURSION DAY
I woke in the morning excited that today was excursion day, so i tried to see how we could go to school early, so we quickly prepared for school, and ate quickly too, then we set of for school.
In school a teacher was in my class asking some questions to my classmate when I came in. Then before i knew it the teacher asked us to gather in one class in other to advice us to put on our best behaviour when we went there, when they were done we were put in bus and we set for uniuyo, art department.
##Uniuyo(art department)
In uniuyo they refreshed our minds on what they advised us on and then told us to carry some notes to jott down some things like in this picture below;
here are some examples of the painting there
We copying some notes, spot me if you can.
In the note i jotted down i they told us that the art department has 5 sections and they are,
- Painting department
- Graphic unit
- Ceramic unit
- Textile unit
- Sculpture department
Painting department
The long stick where the canvas is kept is called the hassle. What is used to mix the paint is called the colour palette. They also had things like palette knives, brushes etc . A painting is made by an application of pigment.
We have types of colors like acrylic, poster, water colours etc.
Graphic unit
The work her has to do with letters and stencil designs they do their works on flex branding or words etc. In this section there is a computer design area where animation is done.
Textile unit
Here, anything that concerns clothing and design in 2D's and 3D's are done. For e.gs crocheting, and the rest of them. Tye and dye is so done here, here, they have different types of wooling purposes. For every textile work that is done all started from paper level to industrial production .
This is an example of a wooling panel
Ceramic unit
In this department the basic material is clay, some tools are spatulas, rolling pin, throwing wheel. The throwing wheel has two types, the manual and electrical throwing wheel.
The manual throwing wheel is operated like a sewing machine (it has a paddle,) while the electric throwing wheel is operated like a weaving machine.
Sculpture unit
In this unit they work with different materials like metal, wood, clay, fibre glass and glass. The fibre glass helps the work that they form to look like plastic making it strong like a bucket. The metal in the sculpture unit is like the skeleton framework we have in our body, it's used for making the boys stand before plastering it with clay or cement.
this is the sculpture of an eagle
The second place we went to was called biuti 'n glori, but the theory was alike a review of the first we just looked at some paintings and then snacks was shared, it was a very interesting excursion, and i am itching for a second and more trips.
All the pictures taken were taken at University of Uyo main campus art gallery by our school authority
