HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY
Hello @goodybest and all other steemians, I'm so delighted to be part of this contest.

Back then in school, we were taught values in civic education. Under values, honesty was one of it. As children, we didn't really understand the practical part of it. But when one come in contact with the real world, he will understand that good values sustained a life. One of the most cherished value that exist in a society is honesty. Honesty is being truthful and reliable in one's daily activities. a honest man can be trusted at anytime. So, I would like to share a story that explain this fact.

STORY TIME

In a small town lived two brothers who have their construction companies. The brothers's name were Jacob and Tom. Jacob who happened to be the elder named his company Jacob and son Enterprise. Tom who is the junior named his Thomas construction company. The two companies had good ratings but something was wrong elsewhere. Jacob run his company with integrity; anytime a project is being sent to his company he deliver it well with the adequate supplies in place. But Tom was the opposite; driven with get-rich-quick syndrome he used substandard materials to do the work thereby claiming more profits to himself. Then,he used a means to decorate the project to look authentic. Jacob who knew Tom's little secret advise him to be honest with his clients but he didn't listen.

A day came that the government of that town offered project to top rated companies. In the list, the companies of the two brothers were included. The projects given to those companies were to build a house which has a form of an aeroplane. All companies did their work very well except Thomas construction company who use inferior materials to build their house and decorate it with paint to look attractive.

On the day of the inauguration, the governor handed over the keys of the buildings thry built back to the companies. Everyone was shocked at that act. The governor then revealed that it was a way of encouraging the companies to work harder. Then he asked the companies to move their offices to the new building. Everyone were excited except Tom who knew what he did. Later in the year the rain came unannounced followed by a violent storm which shook and destroyed the foundation and the house built by Thomas construction company. everyone will injured including Tom. Findings was made about the collapsed building and discovered that the building were built with substandard building materials. So, this really affected Thomas construction company which fall from top rated to scam company. People refuse to patronize the company. Tom had to learn his lesson in the hard way. He then remember his brother's advice to him that says "Honesty is the best legacy".

WHAT I LEARNT FROM THE STORY

The story teaches that we should be honest in our day-to-day activities else the consequences of dishonesty will back fire.
