INTRODUCTION

Hello steemkids&parents, its another weekend to Cook jellof rice with me, although people say Rice are for Sundays. But I totally disagree, rice is a general food, as such it's for all the days of the week, as it has many health benefits.

Ingredients Required
  • Rice.
  • Tomatoes.
  • Groundnut oil.
  • Water.
  • Salt and pepper.
  • Extra spices.
STEPS INVOLVED

Step 1:

Wash your rice once and heat on on fire, after 5 minutes, when it starts to boil, take if out of the fire, drain the water and wash it two more times, then keep it in a bowl and cover.

Rince your pot, then heat in first on fire to dry the water out, then go in with your Groundnut oil. Let it heat for a while then add your chopped onions, after 5 mins go in with your tomatoes, and heat up for 20 minutes to kill the sour taste that often comes with it.

After the tomatoes has heated well, we add plenty of water to it, just enough to cook your rice, Go In with your already parboiled rice, and add crayfish to add extra flavor, then cover your pot and let it cook.

From time to time, you can be checking if the water or ingredients are okay, if no add more. When the water is eventually dried out, your Jellof rice is ready, you can now serve it however you please, you can fry plantain, boil eggs, fry fish/meat, and enjoy your rice even with a glass of juice or wine.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF EATING RICE.

Rice has many health advantages there are:

  • Supply of Energy: Rice is a good source of carbohydrates, and the body needs a good intake of carbohydrates, once everyday.
  • Nutritional value: Rice content alot of nutrients such as antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
  • Digestive Health: Rice contains fiber, this fiber helps to prevent constipation and aids digestion.
  • Heart health: Rice contain high fiber contents, like brown rice helps lower the risk of heart attack, and lower cholesterol levels
  • Weight control: Rice contains higher filing contents, making it a good choice for managing or controlling weight.
  • Gluten-free: Rice doesn't contain Gluten, It is advisable that people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, take it more often
