I have RE-POSTED this so I can get engagement on it and tell others what the subject of this article means. First of all, i want to thank everybody behind this project and commend them for a great job. The Club5050 project is going to build the Steem economy and be beneficial to all Steemians, in the long run as well as the short run.

What is #club5050

Club5050 is a project that is aimed at encouraging people to invest in Steem by powering up at least 50% of their SBD/Steem other than cashing out all the coins. It is a Power-Up campaign that is meant to show people how to save up for the future while investing in the platform.

How is it done?

With Club5050, extra rewards are given to people who make a commitment to power up at least 50% of the liquid rewards they earn consistently. It should be a commitment for every post made and payed out. I have made the resolution to commit to this by powering up my Steem 100%.

Ever since i joined the platform i have always powered up my rewards because i was taught the purpose of saving and investing. This can be seen by the action in my wallet and from my post about my power up 100%. Here is the link

We have been told that to take part in Club5050, whenever you cash out any amount of STEEM or SBD, you must power up an equal or greater amount at the same time. This must be every time you do so because in this way, you save as much as you cash out. The posts using the tag for club5050 have to be quality posts so that they can be voted by the steemcurator accounts.

An account will not be eligible for the club if;

• They have not made any power-ups in the previous days.
• They are powering down, or if they recently stopped powering down.
• They are not using their Steem Power to vote for other users regularly.

If an account is buying and selling STEEM/SBD to exchange for other accounts, it is highly unlikely that they will be given any votes or registered in the club. Apart from the above conditions, anyone can register and start taking part in the club5050 project.

What are the benefits?

The benefits include giving the platform more value, boosting the value of Steem and therefore expanding the Steem economy. Also joining the club will help us save up for our future selves. In turn the save up will get us more Steem power and influence on the platform. I can bet that very soon, the people actively involved in the project will be the most influential on it. Not only does it affect influence but also, voting power. The more Steem power you have, the bigger the vote and therefore more support for other users. It's like helping each other to boost each other.

Commitment

I commit to stick to the rules and power up at least 50% of my rewards every time. I know i can do this because i have been powering up ever since i joined. I want to be one of the kiddies that will rise and make a positive impact on my community and have something to show for my efforts.
