Greetings to everyone in this community I am so happy to o participate in this wonderful and insightful contest which aims at knowing the effect and result of economic hardship in my country.

Nigeria is my country which is located in West Africa well so many claim that Nigeria is the Giant of Africa but is that really the case When citizens of the Giants of Africa are suffering and homeless. Bribery and corruption is the order of the day everywhere you go favoritism and nepotism. Hardship fluctuations of prices of goods and commodities in the market people can no longer afford food to eat. Hardship everywhere family heads are really passing through a lot especially in this time of the year wait things are very costly and expensive to purchase there by making people to live below their income. Even the salaries that they are paying the workers are not even enough to take care of their families and also pay bills. Now people resort to making fast fast money Ponzi schemes involving Yahoo money ritual etc. at times when I go to school I will realize that the driver is a graduate of a particular course in the university. Well I'm not surprised because with the way things are going man must eat even the certificate of people can get them a qualified and certified job which will increase their income. This economic hardship has also affected me imagine going to school and then they amount of money I spend to get there is very very high.

The money that is meant for the whole nation you will realize that one particular person is the one looting the money for what I ask at the end of the day he will not be able to eat quarter of what he looted. Some of them by flashy cars buy build houses that at the end of the day they will not even live in it. As the price of fuel is escalating you will see a particular politician carrying about 8 to 10 escort with different different cars and then a poor man is even looking for 2 liters of fuel to power his generator, but one person is there carrying about 8 to 10 escort and then he will still buy field to put in all those cars and at the end of the day I realize that they are just wasting and lavishing our money spending them on irrelevant things. You will see a country that is supplying other neighboring countries light do not even have light in their own country but the country they are supplying like Ghana do have steady power supply.

We now see the high depreciation of our currency naira. Fluctuation of prices of goods and commodities in the market. So should we actually be called The Giant of Africa. This particular Factor that is the depreciation in naira has really affected my father in his business a car dealer, the prices of cars are escalating day by day. From the point I have stated above it has made family to be frustrated unhappy and sad can you imagine that in Nigeria we make Garri but we cannot buy it, we generate power supply but we don't have steady power supply,we produce rice but we cannot afford it. Is such a country worthy to be called The Giant of Africa livelihood is now unbearable and people have said strategy to be able to cope with the present economic situation. But God will help us that I know.

Conclusion

I myself know very well that it is not only in Nigeria alone that things are tough but it is everywhere. If we are saying Nigeria is the Giant of Africa then the government have to perfect it in words and actions. Thank you for reading my post.
At this point I would love to invite @eliany @josepha and @jeph001 to join in this contest.

How unfortunate what happens there that I tell you is repeated on this side: inadequate policies, corruption, abuse of power and a country rich in oil and other natural resources but the wealth is for the politicians and the connected.

History repeats itself everywhere, it is up to the rest of us to work, motivate the kids to study regardless of the situation they may see because studying will always be the way, the more people do it in a nation, no one will be able to deceive them with false promises.

Let's not lose faith in change, nothing lasts forever.

The situation of our country nowadays I pray that God should still continue to protect us in Jesus name Amen

You've really make some Important points in your post, I will u all the best in this contest challenge.

@vickmoon

You belong from Nigeria and you have told very well where Nigeria is right next to Africa and you have told everything very well about how the current situation is going in Nigeria and how things are going at home. It has become difficult. Everything is becoming more expensive and I am very sorry that people are facing so many difficulties.

Yeah things are getting more difficult as the day goes by but we hope for the best.

I am really sad to read about situation of Nigeria and how life is so difficult there. In India condition is better but current government makes wrong decisions and I am afraid that may be one day India will face same condition because government increase price of daily uses things and increase tax and challan rates and income is going down day by day. They are not doing anything for better future.

We hope for the best. Better days are coming. Take care my friend.

Yes, but I don't think good days will be back because government does not think for public and they think for their funds

You are absolutely right, bribery and corruption have caused so much problems in our country, it renders many hopeless and some do not even have what to eat.

Bribery, Corruption, Nepotism, Tribalism has killed us in this Country Nigeria. People are struggling to survive but those in Government keeps driving luxury cars, sending their children abroad to survive, going for vacations abroad while people suffer. I don't even know if Nigeria will be better again, but we trust God.

Greetings,
The rate by which economic meltdown evolves is something that should be looked into. It has made some people see life as a living hell.
How can an employee spend 70% of his or her income on Transportation. At this point, what will that individual have to survive? I hope this issue should be looked into thoroughly. Good luck on your entry.

Thank you so much I really appreciate.
