Tortoise And The Hare

Hello everyone here, greetings from this end to you all. I trust we are all doing great, if so then thanks be to the almighty.
The contest "My Childhood Favourite Story" is just another interesting one that has been created by one of the most recognized steemian in my country @goodybest and here is my entry for it, let's ride together!.

While i was still a kid, i have heard about so many stories ranging from interesting, sad, good, scary, horrific and many other types. Some of these story were told by my parents, some by my siblings and most of the stories are told by my friends especially my classmates from the school i attended. Among all the stories i have heard so far, one of which i remember the most and found so much interesting is "Tortoise And The Hare". Please read through as you enjoy the story with me.

Once upon a time in the animal kingdom, there lives this animal (Hare) that boasted about how fast he was. The Hare was boasting in front of other animals and in his words, he said; "i am so fast that i can beat any of you in a race, i dear anyone of you, who can challenge me, come on" he bragged walking about.
At first no animal replied because they knew how fast the Hare is and wouldn't want to waste their time loosing at last.

On hearing this, the tortoise slowly came up to the Hare and said to him "i will challenge you in a race and win you". The Hare made fun of the tortoise calling him all sort of names. The Hare said " even if any other animal could try to challenge me, it shouldn't be one as slow as you. The tortoise didn't mind what the Hare said and he still insisted on having a race with the Hare. After final agreement to take on the race with the Tortoise, the other animals went on to set the course for the race between Tortoise and the Hare that is to take place the next.

The next day came and they were both set for the race, the other animals to were present at the venue.
"On your mark!, get set!, ready!!, Go!!!.
The Hare zoomed off and was out of site in no time, almost at once while the Tortoise crawled slowly and trying as much as possible to maintain his pace.
When the Hare had gone almost half way to finish line he thought "this is too easy, let me lie down and rest a little, before the Tortoise will get here i will be up and just run to the finish line".

The Tortoise in question who was crawling slowly and steady gradually catch up with the Hare and silently passed while the Hare was already carried away by sleep.
It was when the tortoise was just few steps to the finish line that the Hare woke up and realized that the Tortoise had gone passed him. He ran as fast as he could with great speed but before, he could even get closer to the finish line, it was too late because the Tortoise already won.

Moral Lesson

The major lesson i learnt about this story is that no matter what you are doing in life, just add consistency to it. There's a saying that little drops of water makes an ocean and somehow i strongly believe. Rome was not built in a day, with constant and steady work we can achieve our dreams. Secondly for the kids, because you feel you are smarter in class does not mean you will not study. We shouldn't be to boost full of what we think we have better than others.

Another lesson i want to draw out from this story is that, we should never give up or conclude that we can not archive our dreams. They might look to big and impossible but trust me it can be made possible. Keep on trying, you made have failed so many times but get back on you feet and keep on pushing.
