Community development service through sanitation
I told us earlier on that am a corpers serving in Nigeria, Rivers State to be precise and it's a routine activity we the corp members carry out every last week of the month in a particular community of choice. So this particular sanitation was carried out in a community called korokoro which is a name given to something that seem interior.
We arrive around 10am on Thursday morning with only few corp members on ground, so there was a little seating and talking, then the leader signaled for a start of duty, so brooms were shared and work started in earnest. But as it is with young people you can't expect everyone to be cooperative in carrying out the duty, but the serious one's will always initiate the duty and sometimes might even be the ones to carry out the duty to the very end.
I want to advice us here young people, when duties are given to be done on a group basis, it is very wrong for us to seat back and allow few persons to carry out the task. This act general slows down productivity and the general excellence at the end of the day.
