Dear diary,

Waking up yesterday was a really big task as I slept quite late the day before trying to read my books. Though every nerves in my body longed for more sleep, I had to be up because it was going to be a big, busy and fun-filled Friday for me.

Morning Activity

I finally got up at about 6:30am trying to get prepared for an event, a traditional marriage precisely where I was to serve as one of the ushers. Ushering is the act of guiding or showing people where to go. Yesterday, our work involved showing people where to go, guiding them to their seats, attending to their various need like water or food. Ushering may be a work but today it was definitely fun-filled working with friends.
We left our destination in group as early as 8:am and headed to a place called Abak where the event was to take place. While in the bus, we made sure we looked our best, crossing every tees and doting all ays so as to make our ushering agency to stand out.

We arrived at the venue around 9:35am and was warmly received by the organizers. Few minutes after our arrival, we were set and ready to begin our duty. Our director assigned us to different areas making sure every aspect of the event was given attention. By 10:00am, guest began trooping in and we guided everyone one of them to their seats. While at this, we made sure we looked friendly enough by smiling and being polite.

Afternoon Activity

By 12:30pm, we were given a thirty minutes break. During the break, I made so many memories taking smiling pictures with my fellow ushers who are also my friends.

By 1:00pm, we were called back to come serve food to the guest and attend to their needs. This traditional marriage had variety of food ranging from different kinds of soups to different kinds of rice, spaghetti and many others which I believe I was seeing for the first time. We served each guest their preferred meal and made sure everyone was satisfied and happy. Towards the end of the event, we were also given a large portion of food as a group which we ate to full.

Evening Activity

When we were through eating, the event had already ended and the environment was almost empty as most of the guest left for their various destination. We stayed a little longer to tidy up the place. When we were done, the organizers thanked us and appreciated our services. The were so delighted and promised to call us back when they have any other event. Before leaving finally, our director insisted we take some group pictures so as to remember this event and also use them while advertising for the agency.

After taking a few coordinated group pictures, we left the venue at about 5:20pm feeling hyped and happy. We reached out destination, that is, where we took off from by 6:56pm and we said a prayer and dispersed to our various homes.

On reaching home by 7:30pm, I headed straight to my reading table where I tried to pen this down so I don't forget any detail. Later on, I took a shower and went straight to bed as I wasn't hungry again.
Yesterday was truly an interesting day for me.
