Switching to homework Mode (Drawing and Colouring)

It starts with an announcement: "Mummy, my teacher gave me homework".

Colouring and Drawing

This is one of the homework my kids and l love doing the most, to colour or draw things. In previous homework tasks, from the "Skyline Colour Splash" (Level 2),

designed for nursery classes, we have drawn verious shapes and objects and coloured a number of objects like a foot, a hand a pencil, etc

Today's homework is on page 28 and 29 of the Skyline Colour Splash.

Colour this picture

The first part of the homework had this instruction that said Colour this picture below you can see a sample, three ducklings 🐥 with yellow bodies, big white eyes and a red beak and feet.

Things to watch out for

• The right colour should be used
• The eyes must not be coloured
• Colouring must stay within the lines

Step 1

Colouring the legs and the beaks of the three ducklings in the picture using the red crayon. I instructed them not to colour in a hurry to avoid colouring outside the margins.

Step 2

Using the yellow crayon 🖍 on the duckling's body while avoiding the eyes.

Step 3

the ducklings now look good and happy in their bright yellow colour.

Draw and colour sheet

The second part of the homework also had a simple instruction, draw and colour sheet.

On this sheet, we are to encourage the pupils to practice drawing. So it means, draw anything and colouring it.

It took a little while to come up with something.

Step 1

Lets get a cup and draw some circles

Three circles that intersects themselves were drawn.

Step 2

Lets now colour the segments of the circle

The outer segments got the primary colour Green, Blue and Red

Step 3

The intersected portions of the circle were yellow, pink and purple

Step 4

The center where the three colours meet was left white.

Conclusion

You can make your kids homework in to a fun activity, you can make them love homework time.
I made sure my kids were fully involved and immersed in the homework activity just to make sure they will not say "Mommy drow it for me". Instade they will excitingly tell what they did.
