Introduction

You are once again welcome to my blog, I am happy to take part in this Contest organized by steemkids community.

Today, I will be presenting a step by step process of making cardboard Cowboy's hat.

I decided to make this Cowboy hat as a means to keep my nephew busy. He seen to have too much energy to spend, I had to keep him busy with the making of this hat.

I will involve him in the process to keep him busy so get started.

Step by step art of creating Cowboy's hat

Step 1
Let's Collect all materials needed for the Hat and keep them aside

The materials are:

• 4 different colors of Cardboard paper
• A pair of scissors
• A Pencil
• Glue
• Crayons

These are the Items/materials I used in the creation of the Cowboy's hat

Step 2

Place the cardboard on a flat surface, this will make drawing easier and effective. At this point I an drowning out the three basic parts I will be using in the making of the hat.

The brim
The crown
Dented Crown top

Step 3

Using a scissors, I cut out all three parts, The brim, crown and the Crown's top

Step 4

Fold the Crown and glue it's ends together, as shown in picture. This makes it look like a real crown now. With ones side having a larger rim compered to the other.

Step 5

Lets switch over to the brim.
Make some small cuts at the inner circumference of the brim, nice slanting cuts will double as a hat band. But it's real function is to help hold the crown.

Step 6

Back to the Crown.
Make some tiny cuts all round the larger edge of the crown. Then pass the crown through the inner circumference of the brim and glue the crown's base to the brim's inner circumference.

Make the tiny cuts around the Crown top so it fits on the smaller end of the crown.
I had to glue this cuts one at a time to get the nice finish.

Step 7

It's time to use the crayon for some decorations

Wow! Here is my cardboard paper cowboy's hat.
My nephew really likes it so much that he slept with the hat on his head. I had to remove it so he won't squash it.
